The Process
We have a transparent and value-added investment review process. Our goal is to perform the process in a timely and efficient manner. Throughout this process we put special emphasis on making sure that at every stage the entrepreneurs know where they stand and what open issues exist.
Our Initial Review Process
Once we receive initial material from a company, we will discuss the opportunity internally before deciding to invite a management team to our office to present to one or more partners. Following this initial meeting, we will discuss the company among the specific investment team and internally at our weekly investment team meeting. Should the company pass this initial screening, we will begin a more in-depth due diligence process in cooperation with the company’s management team.
Our Due Diligence Process
We believe in truly getting to know the management team and their market before investing, and consequently our due diligence process is a thorough one. With the cooperation of management, we perform an extensive review of a company’s strategy, market, and technology. We arrange meetings with potential customers and partners as part of our process and these meetings are usually great business development leads for the companies.

- We will do no harm. We are committed to the success of every start-up that walks in the door. During the pre-investment process and also post-investment, our intention is not to do anything that will harm an entrepreneurs’ ability to operate, raise capital, or build a business. This is best done by working together with the management teams and creating an open and successful partnership from day one.
- We will not waste your time. We know how hard entrepreneurs work, and we know raising capital is only one of the many challenges that entrepreneurs face. We evaluate investment opportunities thoroughly, but we strive to do so quickly and with a minimal demand on an entrepreneur’s time.
- Our process is transparent - we will always let you know where you stand. Genesis Partners believes in true transparency. We communicate clearly and openly with every entrepreneur so that they know precisely where they stand in our investment process and what open issues exist. Upon deciding to begin a due diligence process with a company, we create a game-plan in which we make our key due diligence questions available to the entrepreneurs we are evaluating so they can see what they can do to help us reach an investment decision.
